What is #WWIM10? The hashtag caught my eye several weeks ago and upon further investigation I discovered it stood for the 10th Worldwide InstaMeet. The global event encourages communities of IGers to unite, turning ordinary places into extraordinary Instagrams. The Bayou City’s top IGers organized something exceptional this time around. Houston banded with Austin and San Antonio for a tri-city meet up to explore the quaint town of Giddings, TX. Eager shutterbugs came equipped with an array of photography equipment as advanced as Nikons and Canons to as simple as camera phones. With support of the city, we explored the vintage railroad station, whist courthouse, and stark peanut factory. We were one another’s models and tutors. Props and IG handles were shared at every stop. Our journey ended at a farmhouse tucked away off the beaten path. The captivating area belonged to the family of a fellow IGer who explained that the land has been in her family for over 100 years. The experience is difficult to fully put into words, so here is my experience in images.
A special thank you to the City of Giddings and the kind creatives I met throughout the adventure. Frankly, my photography lacks in comparison to the hundreds of other stunning images captured by my fellow IGers. They push me to learn and grow. Explore their work #exploregiddings.
