A Newbie’s Guide to a Food Truck Festival

Over 34 of Houston’s tastiest food trucks rolled on to the Houston Community College Southwest Campus for Haute Wheels Houston’s Third Annual Food Truck Festival. With lovely weather and amazing fare, the festival was an ideal place for foodies to gather and enjoy the nation’s growing trend of food trucks.

Here are Sarah Theresa’s tips for surviving a food truck festival:

startingline

Get there early.  Food trucks can and will run out of popular items. Be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

beer

Have a game plan. Mine was to hit the Beer & Wine Garden first. For those like me who have yet to fully appreciate the taste of a brewski, this Fox Barrel Pear Cider washes down food truck dishes brilliantly.

coreanosline

Bring your appetite. Remember, sharing is caring! Splitting dishes allows you to try more cuisine.

CoreanosYUM

Coreanos, Mexican Cuisine with Korean In-between = A unique infusion of savory flavors.

Line

Bring your patience. There will be lines. Just be cool.

WaffleYUM

The Waffle Bus‘ Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle with Spicy Mayo = What heaven must taste like.

GooddogYUMgooddog

Good Dog Food Truck’s Chicago dog = Perfection.

Angie’s Cake Balls‘ Ginger Beer = Sweet yet zesty.

peeps

Bring your smile. This shouldn’t be hard. Good food makes people nicer and happier:)
